See transfer station hours below. Mattresses must not be severely damaged, wet, soiled or infested with bedbugs. The limit is a total of 10 mattresses and/or box springs. Please wrap mattresses before dropping them off – special mattress disposal bags can be purchased at hardware stores (e.g., Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.)

Mulch, Wood Chips and Mulch Wattles

Ramona Disposal Service offers free mulch and wood chips to the public for landscaping and other outdoor projects. Mulch wattles are also available for $20 each and can be used to help control erosion, slow stormwater runoff and capture sediment. Each wattle is approximately 10 feet long, weighs 60–70 pounds and is approximately 12–14 inches in diameter.

Mulch and wood chips are a self-serve, self-loading and self-haul service, so please bring your own cans/bags, gloves and shovel. Ramona Disposal Service staff can assist with loading mulch wattles, subject to availability. If you plan to haul material in an open truck or trailer, please remember to bring a tarp to cover your load.

Mulch, wood chip and mulch wattle pickup hours are Monday – Saturday, 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CLOSED Sundays.

Important: You must provide the scale operator with the address where the mulch will be applied.
